What we collect

Your name and contact details, your credential and the documents that verify it, the shifts you post or work, arrival and departure confirmations, payment and invoicing records, and what you write in the app: shift notes and the topic of any Policy Assistant question. On mobile, your location only at the moment you confirm an arrival or departure.

Residents

Shiftmark is built so that resident health information never enters it. Policy Assistant questions are checked on your phone and again on our servers, anything that identifies a resident is removed or the question is refused, and the words you typed are never stored, logged or sent to anyone. Shift notes are for the place, not the person, and the app says so every time.

Why we collect it

To verify credentials, match you with shifts you are qualified for, prove a shift was worked, invoice facilities and pay professionals, deliver required education and answer policy questions from a facility's own documents. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising and we do not use it to train AI models.

Who sees it

A facility sees the name, credential and verification status of professionals who apply to its shifts. A professional sees the facility, unit, hours and rate. Twelve service providers, each named in the notice, process data on our instructions; two of them, Anthropic and Voyage AI, receive only the topic of a question and passages from the facility's documents.

Your choices

Download a copy of your data or delete your account from the app's settings. Policy Assistant questions are deleted after 24 months and shift notes after 12; shift, payment and invoice records are kept as long as tax law requires, with your identity removed. Email privacy@shiftmark.ca and we will answer within thirty days. See how to delete your account.

The legal text

The summary above is for orientation. The notice that follows is the one that governs, and it is what we are held to.
